Hi Nola, Some great tips and examples. The mention of the 'six-note' bird transported me instantly back to the African bush. There is also one that sounds like it is being strangled. Smell too can be especially evocative. Jenny

Reading the articles I quoted in the blog made me realise how much more work I need to do on some of my manuscripts.
